The story behind this burrowig owl

Burrowing owls are the official city bird in Cape Coral, Florida. These birds live inside a tunnel in the ground. Unlike the owls, the burrowing owl is out during the day hunting for food such as grasshopper, frog, lizard, and gecko. Ocassionally they will feed on nesting area.
You will find them chasing away any other birds that get too close to their nest. In this photo, the owl went out to confront an intruder but ended up being chased by the mockingbird.
Later in the day, the owl was seen bringing a large to its nest. When it started to rain later, the owl spread its wings out to get a nice wash.
Baby owls are very curious. When they see someone approaching them, they will often tilt their heads upside down.
